Hello everyone,

The boat regatta is approaching, and we need to finish repairing last year's boat to compete (namely attaching a tarp and re-attaching the paddle wheels). We are meeting over fall break to accomplish this.

We will meet from 12 to 3 on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here are the important dates: * Inspection the boat has to be inspected before 7:50 on Tuesday, October 20. We must then make modifications (if necessary) within 24 hours. * Regatta The actual boat regatta is Thursday, October 22. Parents and mentors are welcome to come cheer us on! It has previously occurred during morning break (around 9:15am), but this has not been confirmed for this year. We will e-mail the parents and mentors this information when it is available.

Sincerely, Blue Tide Robotics officers

We'll repair the Aerial Assist robot. (The wheel broke at clubs fair.) Also, we'll be explaining all of the components of the electronics board and how they connect to each other. Gary will continue with some machine practice.

Hope to see everyone there!

Robotics: Tuesday and Wednesday

Hello Website, I hope you're all having a great start to your weekend. We're meeting Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. next week. We will NOT be meeting this Saturday (tomorrow). We know that building the Robotics room cabinets may have been boring, but now that it is done, we can start to work on robot-building skills. This next week we will be taking apart a robot and learning how it works. We will also be teaching members the basics of welding machine parts. These skills are crucial during the build season, so if you are not busy, please come to robotics. Hope to see you there! Thanks,

Will

Robotics Mentors

I apologize for any misunderstanding. We do have mentors, but they are out of town this weekend. Gary has had a loss in the family, and Mr. Lewis cannot make it due to a scheduling conflict. We will still be meeting next weekend on Saturday,September 19. We appreciate everyone who showed up last week as it is still preseason until Clubs Fair. I look forward to seeing everyone next week and hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks,

Will

Reminder: Meeting Tomorrow

Reminder about tomorrow's meeting.

Hello everyone,

It is almost Saturday again and that means more robotics! This Saturday we will be prototyping the rocker drive that we decided on last Saturday. During this, the Solidworks can work on the design of the robot. We will also be building and fixing the quadcopters. The freshmen will be joining the team soon so some members can help brainstorm the first day intro and jobs.

Thanks, Will

ROBOTICS June 6 First Meeting

First summer meeting moved to Sunday

Hello Everyone,

In order for our summer program to be successful, the first meeting will be very important. Many officers and mentors will not be able to attend on Saturday, June 5, as previously scheduled. Therefore, we are moving the first meeting to Sunday, June 6, from 12-2 p.m. We need all available members to attend this meeting. It will be a brief meeting with pizza being served at noon. Timing is crucial, so here is a schedule of events for the meeting. Mr. Schwartz and Mr. Bushroe will provide a brief 15-minute presentation of their summer itinerary. After a little Q and A, everyone, but the members will be asked to leave the room. FIRST has always been a team driven, mentor-guided organization, so after the mentors and parents leave the room, the members will discuss issues, possibility of success, and our intent for our summer program. After 30 minutes, the members will write final details, and present our plan to Gary and Mike for them to finalize the plan. With a realistic timeline, for the project/projects, we need to rely on attendance of the members, who signed up on the master list. Thank you for all your help setting-up this summer program. I am super excited for this summer!

Thanks, William

Clarification on grade levels

** Clarification on Grade Levels

For this email list, you should select your grade level as of the 2015-16 school year. I apoligize that this was not made clear on the signup form. (This has since been corrected.)

I tried to change it myself, but please double-check that you are categorized correctly.

Thanks,

Nicholas C.
